Living in a busy city during the week, when I return "home," the places of my youth, I experience a sense of relaxation and renewal. This weekend, immersed in beautiful weather, viewing the sunrise and set, I'm pondering if it's nature, landscapes, familiarity, and/or being away and being able to pause, that most contribute to this sense of being grounded, blessed, and attuned to the pulsation of all life forms.
It's likely a combination of all of these things; and, at different moments-when different yearnings are most immediate-that certain qualities of time and place activate a memory and enhance an experience of heartfulness.
I am at my sister's home this weekend and I'm taking in not only the environment, but also our relational space, which is in growth and process. My sister and I are complete opposites and we have learned-and are continuing to understand- how best to connect with each other. I know that when I am connected to my inner self, my inner truth, which knows and is love, I am more generous, compassionate and connected to every expression of being.
It is clear, wandering the landscapes of beauty and/or our interior life leads us "home," a place, metaphysical at its core, that integrates all facets of life into a whole, where even the broken pieces are smoothed and made gentle again.
